Relax and enjoy the tranquility of Bellevue; it is surrounded by lovely countryside but close to all amenities. The historic towns of Richelieu and Champigny sur Veude (its station has been used in several episodes of Poirot) are only minutes away.You can explore the gently rolling hills of the Loire Valley borders dotted with numerous pretty villages, vineyards and woodlands. Chinon, from where the English King Henry II ruled France, is a gentle twenty minute drive through beautiful landscapes. It is a lively mediaeval town situated on the banks of the river Vienne with plenty to offer.
A bit further afield you will find the magnificent Abbey at Fontevraud and Saumur, with its commanding château, as well as Montsoreau and Candes St Martin (officially known as one of the most beautiful villages in France.) Less than an hour's drive away will take you to Tours to the North and Poitiers to the South. Two very different places - both beautiful cities of great historical significance.
The region is justly famous for its pretty villages, historic towns and magnificent châteaux; its fine wines and excellent cuisine are memorable.
